Celebrate Good Times...Come On!

And finally our wedding frenzy is over...for at least a bit.  The wedding of Becca and Fogle was last weekend and boy was it a good time.  It was so good to see friends who I haven't seen in a while and always a good time partying with the usual suspects!  Aviators, Admiral Nelson and a Martini Bar...very good times!  One more congratulations to the two newlyweds who are now enjoying there honeymoon out in Hawaii; which was also my honeymoon and my favorite vacation ever.  I definitely loved it out there.  Not so much the crazy prices on cereal and milk, but so beautiful.

Well after a weekend of eating pretty much whatever I wanted...I didn't go too overboard...it is back to reality.  Erin and I are done with the 2 weeks of no carbs and are back adding some carbs in.  So happy to have fruits back in my eating.  Out of all the carbohydrates there are, I really miss eating fruit the most.  I could do with out pasta, rice etc...but not my fruit.  This weeks weigh in was a little bit on the high side, however with a good week of working out, walking and eating well I am pretty much back on track.  I however did not reach my goal on March 31st :-(  I missed it by 2 pounds...but all in all that is not too shabby.  73 pounds so far and I have already planned my next goal...getting down to 220 pounds which is 17 lbs from where I am now.  My goal date is July 31st.  I should be able to hit it as long as I keep up my working out regularly and playing hockey.  As far as my eating habits go, I think I'm pretty good.  Every once in a while I give myself a reward/cheat...but that is good.  You can't just be so strict and cut everything out for good.  This 'lifestyle' change is all about making better choices while not limiting yourself all together.  One day this week I had McDonald's for lunch; it's OK...as Mills Lane says "I'll allow it!".

And as I come up to my 1 year anniversary of starting this (still a bit away May 24) I am almost at my original goal weight that I set all those months ago.  Two pounds away and so close.  My journey continues, because I want it too!  I am so much healthier than I was a year ago and I thank everyone for encouraging me through this.  Being able to see only 1 X (for the most part...damn you slim fit clothes) on my clothes and no 4 in the front of my pant size is amazing.  Although the thing I love the most is that little old me, my blog and my journey has sparked something in others to make a change.  It is something I still can't comprehend sometimes, but feels so awesome.

On a final thought for the night...it was homemade everything tonight; dinner was Spicy Turkey Sloppy Joe's with Sweet Potato chips and vegetables.  No can sloppy joe mix for this recipe and no bag potato chips.  Put the thin slices of potato in the microwave on top of some wax paper.  Microwave on high for around 4-6 minutes turning at least once and bam!  These things crisp up like regular potato chips...very good with some seasoning on top.  The other homemade concoction tonight was Lara Bars.  If you are unfamiliar with them they are all natural healthy, gluten free energy bars made from minimal, pure ingredients.  Along with limited processed foods as well.  Today's first attempt was Apple Pie and damn was it good.  Dates, raisins, dried apples, cinnamon and almonds all mixed together and put into the fridge to become a little more solid.  First try was a rousing success!!!  They tasted just like the actual bars.  So many more to try and so easy to make too.  Signing off for tonight, later ya'll!
