Motivation, Inspiration, Frustration...

So I have a couple of things to take care of after tonight's blog.  I need to get some recipes up that people have asked for; so at the end of tonight blog we will have the Chicken Pot Pie recipe, a Spinach & Goat Cheese stuffed Chicken Breast and Swedish Meatballs!  Those are for Theresa, Karen and Sarah...way overdue. (EDIT: GOING TO MOVE RECIPES TO SEPARATE BLOG POST)

So onto the topic...motivation, inspiration and frustration.  We'll start off with the frustration-that would be hockey.  Love playing, so glad I'm playing on two teams, but I wish we could actually score and win a game.  Like I've said, as long as we play hard I'm OK with it, but I'd still like to win one.

Onto inspiration-I really enjoy talking about all the stuff that Erin and I have done over the last 6+ plus.  It's great to be able to talk to people and in a way get them pumped up, or even think about making a change for themselves.  My inspiration was Erin and our future together...but it's so great to have people tell you that what you're doing, what you're writing is inspiring!  And the simple thing is anyone can do it!  To all my friends out there making the change; keep up the good work and we're here for ya!  For those of you wanting to make the change, you can do it!  Small changes often have the biggest effects.  In the beginning all we did was change our nutrition.  Don't procrastinate like i did for so many years...find your inspiration, set some goals and get started!

Lastly we move onto motivation...which at times can be the hardest thing.  Everyday life gets in our way...job, time, family, holidays, travel and tons of other things.  One of the websites I have talked about in my blog before is sparkpeople.com (great site, with so much to offer).  Well every month they pick a topic and design a calendar around that topic and put different goals, challenges what have you for each day.  I mentioned the other day that this month was how not to break your New Year's resolutions.  Well so far Erin and I have definitely done the first 7 days of it...Monday's goal/challenge/thing...is to make a motivational collage that highlights your goals, has motivational sayings, pictures etc...So it looks like Erin and I have a little arts & crafts time ahead of us, funny enough I'm definitely looking forward to it.

Whatever you have to do, set your goals and use them as your motivation.  That new pair of jeans you want to fit into, that 5K you want to run, that girl or guy you want to impress.  Use your friends, others going through the same journey and your support system as your inspiration (and even motivation).  Finally try not to get frustrated with things.  The scale that doesn't seem to be moving, that one goal that's so close you can taste it but you're just not there yet.  It's going to happen, I still get frustrated...however you can't let it get to you or halt the great work you've done so far!  Goals and challenges aren't always numbers...you may not have lost those other 2 pounds...but but you don't get winded going up the stairs anymore.  Keep up the fight my friends if you're in it!  Thanks for reading everybody!
