Your dreams were your ticket out.
Welcome back,
To that same old place that you laughed about...
Welcome back,
To that same old place that you laughed about...
Yet again it has been some time since I wrote last...but I'M BACK! So lot's to talk about in this one, but I'll try to sum it up in a rather short manner. By the way...if you were wondering, tonight title and beginning are the first lines of the theme song Welcome Back Kotter. Anyway...
So Friday night we had some pretty crazy storms, but were still able to make it to the Chowder Pot. Now my staple at their was pretty much always the Lazy Man's Lobster. Basically, a 1 1/2 lb lobster de-shelled and all the meat mixed in with a huge helping of there seafood stuffing. Nine times out of ten, that is what I got; well now with the eating change, that doesn't really fit in that well. Too much bread, too much oil, too much grease in general. Instead I went with the grilled swordfish w/ teriyaki glaze and a side of mixed vegetables. Now yes...the glaze probably had a good amount of sugar, but I can always splurge a bit..that and some lobster bisque of course LOL.
Saturday was wedding #2 of the season and what an awesome day it was! The ceremony was very nice and Erin and I got to hang out with the lovely Norah! If you don't know who she is, she is our adorable niece. Dress in her very cute pink dress she got to hang out with Uncle Chuck and Aunt Erin. She was so well behaved that at one point during the end of the ceremony she just fell asleep in Erin's arms. After a short hiatus we were at the reception and man was the food good. The hors' d'oeuvres were fantastic; veal meatballs, bruschetta, bacon wrapped scallops, spring rolls, stuff filo dough with spinach, just to name a few (there were about 10 different ones). Then dinner was a buffet; ziti, mashed potato's, green beans, chicken Marsala, a lightly crusted salmon in a lemon sauce, carved turkey and carved roast beef! I didn't try the potato's or the turkey but everything else was delicious, very well done by the Aqua Turf. Dancing and drinking of course followed and unfortunately Erin got me to dance...somehow.
Sunday was pretty much a veg out day after we got home from the wedding. We did have brunch with everyone at the hotel and got to hang out some more with Norah. I literally cannot wait to be a father, that some days (especially Sunday) it gets me all choked up. I think I'll be an OK dad...I after all did have a pretty good one myself! Brunch was your normal, eggs, omelets, sausage, bacon, french toast, some fruit, danish/bagels/muffins and some little potato hash browns. YUM!
Back to the grind today though...a good day at work and more good news to come after the weekend about work too. This week is a short week with Mike & Joe's bachelor party this weekend in AC and I will certainly have some great food that weekend! There will be another few days break Thursday into Saturday since I'll be away. Tomorrow however is the end of another week (#6) and I will have the my weight update in that one...and hopefully some more good news. I knew these two weeks would be tough with all the festivities but all in all I'm still on the right path.
Till we meet again tomorrow everyone! Have a great night!
